Attraction-Themed Family Packages Make Big Splash With Travelers
ATLANTA, April 14 // -- A downtown Atlanta hotel has found
the right wavelength to reach Georgia Aquarium fans and leisure travelers
while raking in the clams.
Since December, the Omni Hotel at CNN Center has taken more than 550
reservations for its "Splash" packages created as part of the hotels
sponsorship of the Georgia Aquariums Education Loop. The first Omni Hotel
"Splash" packages generated gross revenue surpassing $100,000, primarily
from family and leisure travelers.
On pace to sell 1,500 to 2,000 packages by summer, the hotel introduces
the "Big Splash" package now on sale priced at $199. The original "Splash"
package is $164.50.
Both the "Splash" and "Big Splash" packages include an overnight stay
with deluxe accommodations for two adults, full breakfast for each guest,
and one Georgia Aquarium two-person pass with no line-time to enter the
attraction. The new "Big Splash" package also includes a specially designed
beach bag containing aquarium goodies such as a plush "Deepo" mascot fish,
coloring books, crayons and colored pencils. Kids stay for $27 per child,
which includes breakfast and aquarium access.
The "Splash" packages are now on track as the best selling packages
offered by the hotel, surpassing the popular "Rendezvous For Two" themed
packages, spa and other attraction packages. A new, two-night "CNN Big
Splash Combo" package -- which adds Inside CNN Atlanta studio tour tickets
- is gaining interest starting at $280.
