September Total Retail Sales Up 16.3%
Third Quarter Comp Store Sales Up 8.6%
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 5 /-FirstCall/ -- Guess?, Inc. (NYSE: GES)
today reported that total September retail sales for the month ended
September 30, 2006 reached $67.0 million, an increase of 16.3% from sales
of $57.6 million for the month ended October 1, 2005. Comparable store
sales for the September 2006 period increased 11.3%, which follows an
increase of 14.2% for the September 2005 period. The Company noted that
sales for the September 2006 period were driven by a larger percentage of
full price sales as compared to the prior year period.
For the third quarter ended September 30, 2006, total retail sales
increased 13.8% to $177.8 million, compared to $156.3 million for the third
quarter of 2005. Comparable store sales increased 8.6% during the third
quarter of 2006.
Total retail sales for the nine months ended September 30, 2006
increased 18.9% to $480.7 million, compared to $404.5 million for the nine
months ended October 1, 2005. Comparable store sales for the nine-month
period increased 13.0%.
