IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 6 // -- Peoples Choice Financial
Corporation, a residential mortgage lender organized as a real estate
investment trust (REIT), in response to numerous inquiries, today announced
that it is not a defendant in a lawsuit brought on June 22, 2006, by
Countrywide Financial Corporation in the Superior Court of Marion County,
State of Indiana, against several named defendants including Peoples Trust
Mortgage, L.L.C.
Peoples Trust Mortgage, L.L.C., based in Kentucky, is not and has not
been affiliated in any way with Peoples Choice Financial Corporation or
any of its subsidiaries, including Peoples Choice Home Loan, Inc.
