ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 10 // -- For the seventh year,
Michigan entrepreneurs, investors, and support organizations from across
the state will gather at a conference designed to showcase new innovative
technology business ventures and to celebrate the spirit of
entrepreneurship. ACE 07 will take place on Thursday, January 18, at
Washtenaw Community Colleges Morris Lawrence Building, at 5:00 p.m.
Returning as Emcee will be Chris Holman, Small Business Advocate at the
MEDC, publisher, and TV & radio host. The ACE program features a Showcase
Presentation by Rick Goldstein, CEO of Hybra-Drive Systems. In addition,
six companies -- Advanced Technologies of Michigan, Blaze Medical Devices,
Creative Byline, Elkins Innovations, Razor Threat, and TECAT Engineering --
will go head to head in an Elevator Pitch competition before a panel of
venture capitalists and angel investors for recognition as the winning
pitch of the year.
Attendees will have excellent opportunities to network and learn at
ACE. An Entrepreneurs Exhibit Hall will feature displays by more than 20
entrepreneurs and a number of support organizations. Two breakout sessions
will take place during the evening: "How to Build a Successful Company in a
Difficult Market," which includes a panel discussion and portions of a
video presentation by author Geoffrey Moore, and "Positive Entrepreneurial
Trends in Michigan," moderated by Mark Clevy of SBAM.
ACE 07 will include the presentation of the Great Lakes Entrepreneurs
Quest Phase I Awards for the GLEQ Business Plan Competition. The top new
Emerging Company will receive $5000, and the top New Business Idea will
receive $1000.
